Thunder Bay's communications sector is well developed, with a wide range of local outlets, radio and television stations and ethnic and special interest media to be found in the its region. Among Thunder Bay's list of several radio stations, is the Queen's University campus station, which was founded in 1922  and is one of the oldest radio stations in the world. In addition to many of its radio and television stations from the New York state, Thunder Bay has a few of its own television stations, such as the Cogeco Cable community channel (cable 13), TVOntario (channel 38), CBC(channel 11) and SRC (channel 32). Thunder Bay also receives Global television from a transmitter in Bancroft, as well as CTV from Ottawa's CJOH-TV from a transmitter in Deseronto. Thunder Bay's communications sector is a reliable source which strives to keep its residents up to date with the latest news and media.
