The city of Thunder Bay has a wide range of arts and culture; with 24 museums, national historic sites, galleries, art schools, live theatre, a symphony orchestra, a 6, 500 seat downtown entertainment centre, the third largest art collection in Ontario (found in the Agnes Etherington Art Centre) and more to indulge in. 

Thunder Bay's Agnes Etherington Art Centre has built one of Canada's most notable collection of approximately 14,000 objects over the past half-century and is said to be the most diverse of university art galleries found in Canada. The Agnes Etherington Art Centre, which serves the students and staff at Thunder Bay's Queens University, holds unique items such as the Bader Collection of 17th century Dutch masters in the Rembrandt school, along with the Justin and Elisabeth Lang Collection of West African Art, graphic holdings, Renaissance and Baroque drawings and 16th century to 20th century European prints - just to name a few of its works.  

The Thunder Bay Arts Council, was founded in 1963 (originally to rescue the Grand Theatre from destruction) and is a non-profit organization which seeks to foster art education, promote Thunder Bay's art community, coordinate arts initiatives around the city, advocate for Thunder Bay artists and arts organizations and more. 

Visit Thunder Bays various specialized museums, such as the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes where you can discover Canada's nautical heritage, the International Hockey Museum where you can explore the memorabilia of NHL's top players, or learn more about the evolution of Canada's prison at the Correctional Services of Canada Museum. 

The Grand Theatre is one of Thunder Bay's premier performing arts venue,which is comprised of the Regina Rosen Auditorium and The Baby Grand performance spaces, which offer hundreds of performances (such as dance, theatre and music) throughout the year. Thunder Bay's K-ROCK Centre is another venue found in the city which hosts Thunder Bay Frontenacs hockey games, family events, sporting events, concerts and more! Another highlight of Thunder Bay's arts and culture scene is the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, which provides quality performances and music for all of its Thunder Bay audiences.
