The city of Thunder Bay has something for all to enjoy, with various genres of theatres and performing arts venues. Enjoy concerts at Thunder Bay's K-Rock centre, which is located in downtown Thunder Bay, has 5,700 seats and offers a year-round line-up of amazing concerts, Thunder Bay Frontenacs hockey games, family events, sporting events and more. Take in live theatre at Thunder Bay's historic Grand Theatre, one of Canada's first modern theatres and Thunder Bay's premier performing arts facility. Just recently restored, the Grand Theatre is comprised of the Regina Rosen Auditorium and The Baby Grand performance spaces, which offer hundreds of performances (including the worlds of dance, theatre, drama and music) throughout the year. Thunder Bay's Grand Theatre is also home to the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, which provides quality performances and music for all of its Thunder Bay audiences.
The city of Thunder Bay also offers its residents and tourists exciting events throughout the year. Enjoy listening to Music in the Park or Movies in the Square with friends and family in the spring and summer months, or be wowed by unique entertainers at the annual Thunder Bay Buskers Rendezvous. The month of August brings something for everyone: Thunder Bay's 1000 Islands Poker Run, the Canadian Olympic Regatta Thunder Bay, the Thunder Bay Sheep Dog Trials, the Wolfe Island Music Festival and the Limestone City Blues Festival! The fun continues in the fall with Chilifest to spice things up, followed by the Canada DanceSport competition, the Thunder Bay Jazz Festival, the Santa Claus Parade, film and video festivals and more great Thunder Bay entertainment throughout the year!
