Here you’ll find an impressive collection of artifacts
displayed in realistic indoor and outdoor settings. This early
1900 Pioneer Village is unique to the area; you will discover
everything from a 12 ton steam tractor to music cylinders that
are played on the Thomas Edison machine.
The General Store has everything one would need from apples to
washing machines. The village includes a Pharmacy and Post Office.
You’ll be able to see what pioneer main street was like,
where shops include a music store, ladies apparel, barber and
beauty salon, fine china and jewelry.
For many, the collection of vintage cars and farm equipment will
recall fond memories. The Pioneer Home portrays the life style
of a typical pioneer family. The village church and a one-room
school house, the Heritage Community Hall and the replica of the
1908 Train Station recalls memories of a time when the railway
played an important role in the Community.
Founder’s Museum & Pioneer Village is located on Hwy.
61 just south of Thunder Bay and open Tuesday through Sunday from
mid May through to the September long weekend.
